Racial Profile

Not much is known about the El-Aurians, they are a humanoid race originating in the Delta Quadrant, known as a race of listeners, they are physically identical to Humans, both in regards to body structure and racial phenotypes.

One of the differences between El-Aurians and Humans is the lifespan of an El-Aurian can stretch over centuries, some have known to live over a thousand years.

History

The El-Aurian race is one that has visited many parts of the galaxy, one is also known to have visited Earth in 1893 before humans had even developed spaceflight.

Around the year 2265 the Borg attacked the El-Aurian people and assimilated all but a handful of race, who fled to all corners of the galaxy, finding new homes and refuge amongst different species.

In 2293, the USS Enterprise B saved a group of El-Aurian refugees from the Nexus Energy Ribbon near the Sol system, the two ships, the SS Lakul and SS Robert Fox, were both destroyed by the Ribbon and the Enterprise was damaged, amongst those believed dead was James T Kirk.

Some of the survivors of the incident with the ribbon included Guinan and Dr. Tolian Soran.

Culture

El-Aurians seem at first glance to be Human and they have managed very well to fit into alot of communities, often referred to as a race of listeners, the El-Aurians seem to have some form of limited Empathic ability, while some used this as a positive, to help people and acting as advisors and friends, some became conmen such as Martus Mazur while Dr. Soran used his to try and return to the Nexus.

They appear to be natural Lore-keepers and use their long lives and extensive memories to collect stories from all over the galaxy, their interactions with various sentient beings fueling their stories.

Some El-Aurians seem to be highly sensitive to changes in the Space-Time Continuum, Guinan (at the time, onboard the USS Enterprise-D was able to percieve an alternate timeline which occurred because of a disruption in the history of the USS Enterprise-C.

It also appears that some El-Aurians are considered a threat and dangerous by members of the Q Continuum.
