Copyrighted? Are we sure? Some images are... Others, I doubt it. Ariyen 22:50, 5 August 2012 (MDT)

Yes, this picture is protected by the copyright laws as recognized by the USA and most civilized countries. This image depicts my character, I paid to have an artist draw it, thus it is copyrighted to me. Just a FYI, international copyright laws explicitly states that any kind of work that is posted publicly is copyrighted to it's author, unless said author states otherwise. --Tamara 18:21, 6 August 2012 (MDT)

Ah, then you don't need copyright on it. Posted by you - makes it technically your's. I have an st image that I posted on a wiki that is art work derived by me. I didn't need this that's actually not meant but for other works of art, photos, etc., to be used. Because the user that did it, had it done. owns the copyright and uses it as they see fit. On most any wikis (b-crat sysop here of some and member of more), the one that uploads their own photos is already copyrighted by them and anyone else that uses it. cannot contest it, because of date, etc. it was uploaded, whom by, and the fact that it was basically their's. This site should seek like others a symbol at the bottom to distinguish their copyrights themselves. like guildwiki.org, stowiki.org, etc. do and to keep from having a company, etc. try to sue them. I didn't got everything that you said, but, as a rule of thumb, and to make it a bit more 'foolproof', so to say, it's always better to state it explicitly, than to have people snag the work, and then uses the 'I didn't knew/it wasn't specified' excuse. Thus mentionning it is better, so no one can't say that they didn't knew, sicne it is written besides the picture.
