- Crewman Talas, Andorian Female, Research Team Member. Quiet and submissive, Talas lacks the normal overt arrogance native to her species. This means Gral, who outranks exactly one person in his department, routinely bosses her around and treats her poorly. Basically she's the departmental woobie. Maybe I should have Gral flare up in front of Shran, get his papa-wolf instincts to drive him to intervene. He falls for her, mermaid girl gets freed up, and John continues on his quest to date all the PCs on the crew at the same time. Kekekeke.

"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring
will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.
    —T. S. Eliot

The Vindicator is an Explorer type starship on sector operations duty in the Beta Quadrant. With the destruction of the Discovery Class USS VINDICATOR-E, and the end of the Civil War, it was decided that a leaner, meaner version be created. As such, the Vindicator class was spawned having been designed b Rochelle Ivanova and Almar Dahe'el. Her frame was constructed at Cold Station Theta and fine tuning completed at Earth Space Dock under the ever watchful eye of her designers and Starfleet as a whole.

Current Mission

Deep space exploration within the unknown and lawless borders of Cheydinhall Sector under the command of Commodore Rochelle Ivanova and Commander Almar Dahe'el.

For more information see Vindicator Timeline.

19th Century

In 1863 the USS Vindicator was a 750-ton steamer purchased by the US Navy and then used by the Union army during the American Civil War starting in 1864. The ship was primarily used as a ram gunboat performing patrol and reconnaissance duties along the Mississippi River.

She was decommissioned in 1865.

20th Century

Launched in 1984, this Vindicator was a Stalwart class Modified Tactical Auxiliary General Ocean Surveillance Ship for the United States Navy. Stalwart class ships were originally designed to collect underwater acoustical data in support of Cold war anti-submarine warfare operations in the 1980s.

The USS Vindicator was later transferred to the United States Coast Guard and became USCGC Vindicator. She was used as a mother ship for pursuit boats intercepting drug smugglers.

25th Century

The USS Vindicator has been the name of six Starfleet ships over the last 17 years. In 2401 the Vindicator was a Prometheus class starship (NCC-70314-A) assigned to Alpha Fleet. A year later the Vindicator name was given to an Akira II class starship (NCC-70314-B).

The Excalibur-class USS Vindicator
In 2407, after the switch to Beta Fleet, the Vindicator changed once again, this time becoming a new Excalibur class starship, a massive class of Explorer ships, and given a new registry number (NCC-78213-C).

In late 2410, the Vindicator was effectively destroyed in a battle with Vanguard forces. The superstructure was mostly intact but much of the hull and major systems destroyed. It was hauled back to Starbase Versailles to undergo a reconstruction. Six months later the new USS Vindicator launched (with the class designation Excalibur Refit) and a registry of NCC-78213-D.

Once the crew continued their mission of exploration, they made contact with the species known as Veraki, a pre-warp civilization according to the last reports. It turns out the Vindicator arrived just in time to witness their first successful warp flight.

In October of 2412, the crew of the Vindicator transferred to the newly commissioned USS Vindicator-E, a brand new Discovery class Deep Space Explorer.

In spring of 2416, the Vindicator rose from the ashes of destruction and welcomed her crew as a state of the art, and never before seen, Vindicator class vessel.

Detailed specifications for the Vindicator can be located on the page for the Vindicator class. COMING SOON

NPC Mini Bios

Some departments have a large number of named NPCs, for whom a full bio would be overkill. To avoid flooding the primary roster with lots of tiny NPC bios, here's a place for people to stick names and minimal details, plus the name of the NPC's owner.

Diplomacy Department

Position: Name: Gender: Species: Bio: - LtJg Marcus Reed, Human Male, Linguistic Xenoanthropologist (Alien Languages). Friendly and kind, skilled with languages, though not obscure ones (so the guy knows Klingon but not Gaelic or Hindi). He's the "buddy". He's also a devilishly good cook, especially with unhealthy foods.

Position: Name: Gender: Species: Bio: - Lieutenant T'Lara, Vulcan Female, Professional Gymnast (also Cultural Xenoanthropologist). Logical like most Vulcans, her focus for the last twenty years has been on competing as a professional Gymnast. This position is a mid-point in her transitioning specialities from Gymnastics to Diplomacy. She's here because when you do a tribal dance, sometimes you need to *know* your person will get it right the first time. Millimetres can show disrespect, and that can kill people.

Position: Name: Gender: Species: Bio: - Ensign Lynn, Bajoran Female, Treaty Specialist & Consultant. She's raven-haired, with an inviting smile, and a friendly attitude. Her desk usually has a minibar, and when someone mentions drinks she's often got a tumbler in-hand before they finish talking. She's also a duplicitous, murderous sociopath whose feels either nothing (handy for studying), or lust (blood or physical). The people who know her are confused and alarmed that she keeps passing psychiatric exams. Popular opinion says she keeps sleeping with the counselors. She won't poison you, so feel free to share a drink and laugh at her jokes; just don't fall asleep.

Position: Name: Gender: Species: Bio: - Chief Petty Officer Kobor, Klingon Male, Treaty Specialist & Consultant. He's a Klingon with a handle on his temper, a ready grin, and a keen insight into the minds of other warrior species. He's still a Klingon though, so he doesn't party quietly, and he's liable to dislocate your back by slapping it. Plus, he challenged one of his old superiors for command one time. This "cultural difference" was explained to him, and hasn't happened again, but just be careful.
