ARTICLE I - IRC CHANNEL OPERATIONS
The rules of Channels owned by SIMs, Commanding Officers, or personal channels of members of The United Confederation of Interstellar Planets shall be subject to the SIM Commander or Channel Owner and are not included as channels "Owned by The United Confederation of Interstellar Planets"
ARTICLE II - IRC CHANNEL OPERATORS
All members of the Command Staff & Senior Staff shall have Ops Status in channels owned by the United Confederation of Interstellar Planets. All active members who are Commanding Officers or of rank Commodore and above shall have Ops status in channels owned by the United Confederation of Interstellar Planet.
- BackRoom shall be the only UCIP owned channel where Ops may be given to those not meeting these requirements.
ARTICLE III - RANKS IN CHANNEL
All members wearing ranks shall be considered In Character. Only ranks designated and granted by the United Confederation of Interstellar Planets shall be worn.
Visitors are requested to wear the rank of Ambassador (Amb) when visiting from another Organization.
ARTICLE IV - IRC CHANNEL RULES
When enforcing rules, except when otherwise specified, the proper procedure shall be two warnings. The first must be a verbal warning. The second warning may be done using either a verbal warning or a kick. If the inappropriate behavior continues, further action is at the discretion of the Channel Operators.
A temporary ban may be used in order to prevent an auto-rejoin. A ban of this nature must be removed immediately following the kick.
All rules shall be enforced by the Channel Operators. All Operators are responsible for ensuring that all reasonable requests made by members are honored.
Behavior suited to a PG-13 environment shall be permitted at all times.
Excessive use of swearing, graphical or sexually explicit language, or innuendo shall be stopped and taken elsewhere immediately upon the request of any member in the channel.
Excessive use of Out Of Character in Role Playing channels shall be stopped and taken elsewhere immediately upon the request of any members in the channel.
It is recommended that UCIP related Out Of Character talk be taken to another, separate, non-Role Playing channel such as #UCIP.
It is recommended that Real Life related Out of Character talk be taken to another, seperate, non-Role Playing channel such as #BackRoom.
Harassments and Insults will not be tolerated and shall ceased immediately upon the request the request of any member in the channel.
Use of auto-away messages and excessive use of colors, sound requests, auto-greets will not be tolerated.
Arguments over requests to remove such behaviors from Channels owned by The United Confederation of Interstellar Planets shall be done in private or in another channel so as not to disrupt the Role Playing Channels of The United Confederation of Interstellar Planets.
Continuing to argue within a channel after the request that it be moved elsewhere has been made shall be met with a kick, then a ban.
Violations of server rules, Advertising, the sending of inappropriate files without the permission of the person to whom the file is being sent may be met with an immediate kick and/or ban, at the discretion of the available channel operators.
Any violation of the server rules should be reported to the server admins. ===Section E.=== In all decisions, Channel Operators must inform people of the rules they are violating when issuing warnings, kicks, or bans.
Abuse of any Operator status by any Operator will not be tolerated. If a member has a complaint, they should make a log of the incident and send it to the CinC/DCinC. An investigation will then be conducted by the CinC/DCinC or some one appointed to the task, and appropriate action taken. Item 1. If the member feels that action was not appropriately taken, or the person who the report was made on feels the actions taken unfair, they may appeal the decision to the Senior Staff.
